Below are some frequently asked questions our valued customers have, they may be of help to you:
DO WE OFFER INSTALLATION
Damien Cole Group does not provide installation services. We have known installers that we can suggest to our customers (LINK BELOW) however please keep in mind these are independent businesses not connected to Damien Cole Group. For rates and availability to install please contact these companies directly.
DO YOU DELIVER
We offer free delivery in metro areas, typically on Wednesday or Friday. If transport is required for outside metro area then it is the customer's responsibility to organise own transport. We can provide a list of suggested local Transport Companies for north, south and east of the State and also Interstate.
WHAT VEHICLE DO I NEED TO PICK UP MY DOME SHELTER
A flat top truck or trailer with 3m long tray at least is recommended for picking up your products unless you are coming to pick up a small box of parts in which case a standard car/work ute will suffice.

WHAT IS THE SIZE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN GP AND HC CONTAINERS
GP = 2.6 metres high
HC = 2.9 metres high
WHY DO SOME DOMES HAVE DOUBLE TRUSSES
The wider domes have double trusses as they are stronger due to having to span a longer distance. This applies to all of our 12m wide and above domes.
WHAT DOES THE HEIGHT OF THE DOME SHELTER REFER TO
The height of the dome we quote refers to the actual dome height from base plate to top of arch, this does not include whatever it sits on i.e container or legs.

Height is often referred to as RISE as well.
DO YOU PROVIDE STEEL LEGS TO MOUNT ONTO, HOW MANY LEGS/RAILS DO I NEED
Yes. We have fully engineered legs to suit GP or HC containers. Legs can go one or both sides if you want a container on one end. We sell cage bolts, if required, for footings. All legs and rails are made from 200 UC 59 galvanised steel. When you purchase legs they come with all bolts and brackets for install.

If the dome is going on a 20ft container you will require 2 legs & 1 rail per side.
If you are installing onto a 40ft container you will require 3 legs & 2 rails per side.
IS THERE A BENEFIT TO ATTACHING THE DOME TO THE OUTER RIM OF THE CONTAINER
All of our dome shelters are designed for 'container out' style, where the containers will not be under the shelter of the dome. However, if you require 'container in' style, 1. this will reduce your internal usable area by 2.5m per container, 2. your back wall base plates will have to sit with the pipe outside of the containers (refer to drawing).
6m, 8m, 10m wide domes CANNOT be 'container in' style.
WHAT WIND RATING DO YOUR SHELTERS HAVE
Frame and cover are engineered to 31 meters per second (115km/hr) wind loading on single truss shelters and 41m/s (147km/h) for double truss structures.

All our shelters are engineered to AS1170.2 design criteria with Terrain Category 2, Importance Level 1, however, depending on site terrain etc the addition of front and back panels are not necessarily engineered to these standards. If you need back or front panels made to site terrain specifications this will need to be ascertained by the customer and can be done so through Sevrin Clements at WA Structural Consulting or another engineer of your choosing.
WHAT PAYMENT METHODS DO YOU ACCEPT
We accept direct deposit, credit card payments (excluding American Express) and can go through the process of setting up our known and trusted customers on a 30 day credit account should they choose.
WHY ARE ALL OUR DOMES EITHER 3M OR 3.6M HEIGHT
The 6m wide domes have a rise of 3m because the rise cannot be greater than half of the dome width.
DO THE DOMES NEED TO BE WELDED TO THE CONTAINERS, IF WE ARE MOUNTING ON CONTAINERS
Yes they do, you need to weld all base plates on top of the container as well as the back lashing bars.
Base plate amount will be 2 x arch count.
DO YOU PROVIDE ENGINEERING DRAWINGS FOR COUNCIL APPROVAL
All of our dome installation manuals come with GA(general arrangement) drawings, in some cases our customers find this will suffice. Our domes have engineering drawings which are basic engineering, member deflections at given wind speeds. Simply a computer model.
These serve most people for a temporary structure.
However, if you need engineering drawings with calculations which normally apply to permanent structures such as a building, that engineering needs to be done in a site specific basis..siting, location, terrain, hills, winds, direction of orientation, ground conditions etc need to be considered.
We of course cannot supply site specific engineering as all sites are different. We would recommend using Sevrin from WA Structural Consulting Engineers. The drawings provide evidence that the shelter meets Australian Standards. We do not get involved directly with Councils for approval.
